Parent and Teacher Survey
(and SEF Funding) Results

SEF conducts an annual survey of the parents and teachers to learn

their priorities for the upcoming school year.  The results of these surveys guide the fundraising goals of the SEF for that school year.

The 2005 Stowe Education Fund (SEF) Parent Teacher Survey
identified the following priorities and SEF funded:

         ·          Re-instating a Spanish language program at the SES (2 year obligation)      
     Ø  SEF raised $65,000

·          Providing a second year of a Summer Math Lab Program at the SMS

Ø             SEF raised $15,000

·          Renovating the severely outdated Science Labs at the SHS

Ø             SEF raised $40,000 of the total $120,000 budget

·          Establishing an Asian Studies Program at SHS

Ø             SEF worked as part of a team to secure grant funding

2006-2007 funding goals as a result of 2005-2006 commitments:

·          Continue the Spanish language program at the SES                                                                        $65,000

·          Complete fund raising to Renovate the SHS Science Labs                                                                        $80,000

TOTAL:                                $145,000

 Funds raised beyond the already committed $145,000 (see above) will go towards the priorities identified by the September, 2006 Parent & Teacher Survey:

·          Contributions towards the Community Playground, SES

·         Summer Math/Science Camp, SMS

·          Additional Smart Board purchases, SHS

Note:  A  facilities need assessment is currently being conducted and the results will be presented to the School Board by year end. It is intended to finance these needs with a bond at  the March Town meeting.
